About this speaker
Jessie holds a Ph.D. in Kinesiology with a focus on sport psychology, cultural studies, and youth development from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. She is also a former Fighting Illini tennis player, where she and her doubles partner were the first players from Illinois to qualify for nationals. Post-college, she has been involved in tennis as a high school and college coach, a community organizer, a director of a nonprofit tennis facility, a Northern board member, and a volunteer committee member for USTA Northern and USTA national. She currently serves on the Local Play and Competition committee nationally, where she leads the Junior Circuit project team. Jessie is also a member of the South Dakota Tennis Hall of Fame. Jessie currently lives in Vermillion, SD, with her partner Karen and their three rescued chow chow dogs.
